3 Powerful Lessons on Inspiration and Success from My Mentor

Attachment-1 (1)
I recently came across a quote that got me thinking about those who have inspired me to achieve and why. Quite simply it states, “A mentor empowers a person to see a possible future, and believe it can be obtained.” I consider myself lucky to be a female entrepreneur in today’s world. I get to wake up every morning and do what I love, while drawing invaluable inspiration from a number of other #bossbabes making it happen on a regular basis. For me one of the most exhilarating things about being an entrepreneur is the idea that my hard work, my vision, my success, might one day inspire someone else to follow their dreams. Of course, when you acquire a certain level of success,  there will be those who you mentor without even knowing it. Having the good fortune to gain the right platform at the right time provides a tremendous opportunity to benefit those who may never have known your story. Spotlight on Rosie Pope for sharing her story, and for reassuring us working girls that it is possible to balance a successful company with motherhood…in heels! A few qualities that I believe make Rosie a mompreneur to admire:
Determination- In 2007 Rosie managed to launch Rosie Pope Maternity in the months leading up to the birth of her first son. She details working late night, and into the wee hours of the morning, to get it all done in time for his arrival. A new business and a new baby all on the same timeline? A true testament to the strength of the female spirit.
Humility- Before achieving success with her boutiques, Rosie debuted a high end line of maternity gowns that never took off. Her advice, “Follow your passion, but don’t do it blindly.” Knowing when to pivot is essential to long-term success, and Rosie didn’t let her ego stand in the way of facing her earliest challenges head on.
Boundaries- Rosie is an advocate for women when it comes to work/life balance. While she acknowledges it can be difficult, Rosie suggests that training yourself to be present in the moment is essential.  “When you’re at work you have to be working, and when you’re home, you have to be at home.”
Thank you Rosie for using your platform to educate, empower, and inspire women to act on their passions and achieve their dreams.
