Class Description

Our Weekly Triple is designed to provide your child with three times the fun and learning! This 3-pack of classes will combine our popular Kinder-Prep programming, our trademarked Little Chefs curriculum, and a Spanish language immersion experience.

Kinder-Prep:
It is never too early to start preparing your child for success in school. Little Learners Kinder-Prep program is designed to support preschool-aged children in developing the skills that they will need for Pre-K and Kindergarten. Direct instruction and discovery play will prepare children by supporting their development in the following areas: letter recognition, letter-sound association, pre-reading skills, sight-word recognition, and writing development. Additionally, children will participate in pro-social activities pertaining to math and science. Masters level teachers will work with children individually and in small groups divided by developmental age and skill level.

A typical enrichment session will include:

+ Literacy, language, and writing instruction facilitated by the multi-sensory curriculum Get Set for School / Handwriting Without Tears.

+ Math and fine motor instruction facilitated by a variety of hands-on materials/activities.

+ Science and sensory discovery play intended to promote critical thinking skills.

+ Weekly newsletter highlighting curriculum specific highlights and activities.

Little Chefs:
Part 1: Healthy Chefs
The food pyramid is a thing of the past! We will begin by teaching your child about the five basic food groups using the USDA’s most up to date programming entitled “Choose My Plate.” This interactive approach teaches children how to select and create well-balanced meals rich in fruits, vegetables, grains, protein and dairy. Each week your child will have the opportunity to prepare and taste a new healthy recipe.

Part 2: International Chefs
Take a tasty trip around the world! As each culturally diverse recipe is introduced, the children will gain a better understanding of the rich culinary traditions found in other parts of the globe. Cooking is also a wonderful way to teach valuable skills such as counting, measuring, and following directions. Delicious destinations will include: Italy, India, France, China, and more!

Part 3: Story Chefs
Goldilocks tasting the Porridge, The Little Red Hen working tirelessly to prepare a tasty loaf of bread for her friends, wondering what would happen If You Give A Mouse A Cookie…..so many of our beloved storybook memories provide us with an opportunity to follow our favorite characters into the kitchen! Your child will join us in preparing and sharing tasty treats that remind them of their favorite imaginary tales including: Strega Nona and the Magic Pasta Pot, Pete’s Pizza, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie….and more! Cooking is also a wonderful way to teach valuable skills such as counting, measuring, and following directions.

Our studio space and all recipe selections are nut-free.

Includes 30-minute lunch or snack extension.
